DUSTY IS HELPING THE CHILDREN'S HOSPICE
To celebrate 50 years as a vocalist, local Scottish Folk singer, DUSTY MILLAR has brought out a CD entitled “A Golden Journey” which features 15 of his own songs.
All of Dusty's songs on the CD are about places and people he loves including "Saltcoats", "Arran Lullaby", The Ballad of Chieftain Tam Martin", etc.
Dusty is indebted to Gary McMillan from the Caley Youth Centre Recording Studio in Stevenston who produced the CD. Dusty was able to use the services of the Caley since he was making the CD for charity. A huge thank you also goes to his friends, local musicians Tommy Bingham, Stewart McLaren, Gillian Mitchell, and John Shearer [who now lives in Sweden] for giving their time to provide a muscial accompaniment to Dusty's guitar. The graphic design and landscape photographs for the cover and insert on the CD was also provided free of charge by John Slavin of www.designfolk.com, and the cover photograph was taken by Dusty's friend John Cairns.
The CD costs £10 and Dusty is donating all the profits to CHAS, a charity he has raised money for in the past.
If you would like a copy, these are available from Margaret & Dusty on e-mail at d.millar@virgin.net or at local outlets including Avanti's Cafe, The Crown Inn, The Lauriston Hotel and Victoria Bar. |
