Ardrossan Highland Games is a popular destination for competing pipe bands.

As a competition it is relatively early in the season and ideal testing ground for a pipe band’s performance. Having been to Gourock Highland Games then possibly Girvan Lowland Games earlier in the year the musicians should by now be familiar with their competition selections. The resulting performance should be composed and tweaked enough to be very entertaining.

Grade one, two, three and four bands together with juvenile and novice juvenile grades all compete according to the rules of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (RSPBA).
